For the first time living in Bangkok for 25 years, I had an opportunity to become a traveler in my own home town. My friend from New York attended a wedding in Koh Phi Phi and on her way back, she decided to do a short stop in Bangkok. I took the chance to show her around and here's what happened. Hope you enjoy it!
Though Bangkok was a slight shock to the system, after about a month of living there we found it really hard to leave. We ended up going back again and again during our time in Thailand, for all of the reasons (and buildings) in the post.
@angloitalian Totally! I have been traveling around most of the time, but I always find myself back here. Another reason for me returning is probably the food. Nothing can match the spice palette of Thai food (well, maybe Indian but that's it). Most people come for the party, but stay for the food. :)
@peachananr I miss that spice sometimes, though I'm with you on the Indian cuisine front. Travelling has never been about PAR-TAY-ing for us, we went to Thailand to meet the people, we hadn't really put the food on our agenda, just wanted to see how people lived.
