Nepal was hit by a devastating earthquake in April 2015. It was the worst natural disaster to strike the country since 1934 leaving over 9,000 dead and more than 23,000 injured. With our close ties to the country through Kenton Cool and the courses we operate, we thought the best way to support the people of Nepal was to visit the country as soon as possible and contribute to the tourism industry, an industry so many families depend on especially during trekking season. After a 14hr flight with a stop off in Delhi, we touched down in Kathmandu, the chaotic capital of Nepal. A 15minute taxi ride took us to the Thamel district, a well known tourist district of the city as well as a pre-base camp for trekkers and mountaineers with plenty of shops to grab last minute Snickers and other such essentials.
