village of Semonkong in the south west of the country. From here we left
our bikes for horses to explore the Thaba Putsoa Mountains.

The change of transport was justified. With few rests, our horses climbed
over mountain pass after mountain pass.

Careful not to let this one trot off with all our food

Philip, the son of the village chief who was to look after us for the
night, guided us over the mountains
